About the Project

Sacred Medicine House will be a new 120-unit apartment building in Lake City Way that will provide permanent supportive housing to those transitioning out of homelessness. Owned by Chief Seattle Club, a nonprofit dedicated to physically and spiritually supporting American Indian and Alaska Native people, the building will allow Chief Seattle Club to provide housing and culturally relevant support services to its residents. The project is anticipated to break ground in Summer 2022.

Merganser’s Mike Weller serves as construction manager for the project, working as a consultant to Lotus Development Partners, a full-service real estate consulting firm with a particular focus on affordable housing and homeless services.

Fun Fact

Prominent Seattle architect Johnpaul Jones serves as a cultural design consultant for the project and is helping to shape an art plan that will incorporate Native artists’ work throughout the building.
